CITY MAN-JOURNEY - SAM POH TONG CAVE , IPOH PERAK

WORTH to visit it !!!

Sam Poh Tong Temple- Chinese Buddhist

IPOH has a lot of attraction places and delicious foods . For those who are like to traveling with your family and friends or still searching the next location to planning your next vacation, Yup , you should read this article and follow our blog . This will make you have a memorable one in your trip .
I will going to introduce and share my personal reminiscences of the Sam Poh Tong which is most famous Ipoh Cave Temple or Landmarks among the different cave that you can find in Ipoh such as Ling Sen Tong, Nam Ting Tong, Kek Look Tong and so on. The hill surrounding Ipoh are riddled with caves that are believed to house strong spiritual power. Humble meditation grottos have grown to be community temples. The Chinese Buddhist community has made these caves their place of worship.

Last month on Saturday , I went to Sam Poh Tong Temple with my university's friends. It was a first time I took short , one day trip with my friends.  We went to almost every famous tourist attraction in Ipoh but only the Sam Poh Tong Cave gave me a unforgettable MEMORIES and dearest to my heart.

Penetrates deep inside a cave
This is a famous cave temple located in Gunung Rapat, about 5 km south in Ipoh. It is said to be the largest cave temple in the Malaysia and built within a limestone cave . It is an impressive work of art with various statues of Buddha interspersed among the stalactites and stalagmites.
246 steps -impressive even though the award was given twenty -three years ago
The temple facade dates back to the 1950s and a stiff climb of 246 steps will lead you to an open cave with an excellent view of Ipoh and its surroundings. At that day, we went higher and higher, up towards what looked like the ceiling of a monstrous room. I was delighted is because I saw there were monks dressed in saffron-coloured robes walking about, wearing simple sandals on their feet and with heads competely shaven. So, can see the monks and nuns who dedicate their lives to Buddha still occupy the Sam Poh Tong Temple until today.
Outdoor View-viewing pleasure

When we was tired walked around the Sam Poh Tong, we just stood there to enjoyed the beautiful scenery and took pictures

SPECIAL CUSTOMS
Visitors may join in praying or worshiping at temples. These actions should be genuine and not made in a mocking manner. Visitors should enter a temple with their left foot first and exit with their right foot . Additionally, the traditional way to greet  a monk is to place a both hands together as in prayer and perform a small bow.

The temple also offers visitors the opportunity to release turtles into its turtle pond as a means of balancing one's karma. The smell of incense just added to the mysteriousness of the place. I know I was wide-eyed and saw the turtles frolicking in a pond. There is also to give visitors can feed tortoise with stalks of vegetable and a wishing well for those seeking fortunes.
Tortoises- which are symbol of longevity
At that day, me and my friends also bought a handful of Kangkong (water spinach) from a old lady who has been selling the tortoises's feed for years.
Through this picture can see the turlte gobbled happily
